Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Spirit Counseling does not accept insurance. We are not in-network providers for any insurance plans. Insurance companies require that you are given a mental health diagnosis no matter the reason you are seen, and not every client has a concern that needs a mental health diagnosis. Spirit Counseling focuses on fostering healing through resolving and replacing negative thinking patterns, habits, and building awareness towards who you desire to become.

We do accept Health Savings Account or Flex Spending Accounts, credit cards, or cash for payment. We can provide you with a form called a superbill for you to submit a claim directly to your insurance company for reimbursement if desired.

Do you provide individual therapy?

Spirit Counseling believes in the power of change that comes through connection and primarily uses a group approach for our programs. Individual (1-on-1) sessions are available after participation in one of Spirit Counseling’s group programs. Individual sessions will build on concepts within our group programs and provide individual insight to meet your needs.

What are the advantages of participating in a group versus working 1-on-1?

Groups provided community, connection ,and validation of your experiences while decreasing isolation and  the stigma of being “the only one” to experience a situation. We believe healing comes through connection to God, connection to ourselves, and connection to others.

Our group programs are designed to facilitate growth, practical tools, and foster a healing space. We also require all group participants to sign a confidentially agreement to protect our ICU group sessions.
