Signs of a Healthy Heart

If you know anything about the month of February, then you probably are aware of Valentine’s Day and that February represents Heart Health month. This month places emphasis on matters of the heart related to romance and the health of our physical heart (organ) in our body. This month I want to introduce another aspect of our hearts that is equally important …that is to focus on your heart as the command center for your life. Let me explain….

This heart that I am referring to represents your desires, motives, morals, values, important choices, and the things you hold sacred. Your heart guides your daily interactions, thoughts, and feelings. Given ALL of the things that the heart represents it is ESSENTIAL that our hearts are HEALTHY. Sometimes as we encounter setbacks, turmoil, heart ache, and negative events, our hearts: desires, motives, morals, values, thoughts, and feelings can become TAINTED.

Throughout this month I’ll share tools to assess your heart health as well as strategies to keep your heart HEALTHY.

Today we’ll begin with sign #1 of heart health: A desire to let go of grudges.

I know that concepts of forgiveness, revenge, payback, etc can be controversial. I understand that achieving forgiveness is NOT EASY. However, forgiveness, and letting go of a grudge represents a desire to RELEASE. That is to let go of things that do not add intentional value. To not drag around a 20 year offense. To MAKE ROOM for the blessings and good stuff God has for you because you are not holding onto the past.

Is your heart healthy ? Do you desire to RELEASE and be free? Write down ONE thing that you believe you need to release and commit to prayer for 7 days concerning this particular area.

Let me know how you feel and what changes you notice.
